The Tax Administrator’s Office is a multi-function office, charged with the responsibility of maintaining records on all real and personal property in Caldwell County. These records are kept for the purpose of assessing, billing, and collecting ad valorem taxes. The office operates with a staff of 19 full-time employees in six departments: Administrative,VehicleTax,Listing/Billing, Tax Collections, Mapping/Transfers, and Appraisal/Reappraisal. In addition to county taxes, the office bills and collects taxes for the rescue readiness, 14 fire districts and three municipalities: Town of Sawmills, Town of Rhodhiss, and the Village of Cedar Rock.

Tax bills for real and personal property are mailed to all Caldwell County property owners in July of each year to take advantage of a 2% discount for July and a 1% discount for August early payment of taxes. Taxes are due on September 1st each year. Payment without interest may be made through January 5th. Learn More>>>
